I love your writing and the personality you inject into it, the background changing from day to night is also ingenious and very immersive! Great artwork as well, and I'd love to explore more of the options and I'm suspicious of the foreshadowing... excited to see where the story goes.

can't even begin to describe how charming this game is and I haven't even gotten halfway through (i assume), the different fonts are really immersive and don't clash which is great! A fun take on a story most people know. The switch to white when its day is really great theming, overall a joy to go through!
the title itself is pretty ominous - especially with the warnings at the beginning. the narrative is very mysterious -- the options given with a lack of context make it even more so. some of the options given also feel very ominous (concerning the character's backstory). idk if in some/one storyline it's clarified a bit, but it makes me very curious! :)
the day/night background switch helps a lot with pacing? it gives a better sense of time passage (and in general visually fits the ongoing narrative).
the only issue (not really an issue -- it's super minor) i found was a formatting error with the italics. i wish i remember where exactly it was, but it was in one of the daytime passages.
very tiny suggestions?: for the daytime maybe use a bit of a less-white-white? it could 100% just be me (light sensitivity). also some of the images were a bit jumpy for me (i think they were re-loading each time). idk what method you were using, but i had something similar happening when i displayed a different passage within the passage -- i switched it to click-replace and it stopped (but it also had no images, and it also made my passage & event-map kind of confusing to look at).
The concept and the storyline of the game is great. I loved the day/night theme and how it creates the settings of different scenes even without illustrations. And the writing is incredible, however, I tried playing a few times I couldn't get to the good ending sadly.
i can't express how much i love your writing, it is genuinely super good. As the game is now, your styling and narrative are already so solid that it holds up super well even without the illustrations (but I'm really excited to see them in the final :) ). My favorite part is the background color switch to indicate morning/night. It seems like such a simple thing but I 100% would have never thought to do that, it works so well. Honestly I don't have a whole lot to critique, you're in a very good place with this and have clearly put a lot of care into it. If I had to nitpick anything, maybe giving the content warning more visual interest or putting it as a popup so it's a little more clear (but that's more an accessibility thing than technical issue). Overall you've done an amazing job!
